Community Grant Funding – Apply Now!

Kents Hill & Monkston Parish Council is pleased to announce that so far this year we have awarded £1,250 in community grants to support local initiatives. This funding will help local groups to deliver projects that improve wellbeing, strengthen resilience, and bring people together across our parish.

The Council has a total Community Grant Fund of £3,500 for 2025/26, meaning that there is still funding available. We encourage local voluntary, community, and not-for-profit organisations to apply for support with projects that benefit residents of Kents Hill, Monkston, or Monkston Park.

What can you apply for?
Small Grants (up to £250): Designed for quick, accessible support for smaller initiatives. Match funding is encouraged but not required.
Medium Grants (£251–£1,000): For larger projects, with match funding expected.
Large Grants (over £1,000): Only considered in exceptional cases, with strong justification and confirmed match funding.

Who is eligible?
To apply, organisations must:
Be a constituted community group, voluntary organisation, charity, or social enterprise.
Operate within or for the benefit of the parish.
Have a bank account in the organisation’s name.
Provide a constitution or governing document and demonstrate good governance practices.

Grants cannot be awarded to individuals, for retrospective projects, or for ongoing running costs such as wages, rent, or utility bills.

How to apply
Applications must be submitted using the Grant Application Form, which can be downloaded here. Completed forms should be sent to the Parish Clerk at least 14 days before the Full Council meeting at which they are to be considered.

The Council makes all decisions by resolution at its public meetings, ensuring transparency and accountability in the allocation of public funds.

Monitoring and accountability
Successful applicants are required to submit a brief report within 6 weeks of completing their project to show how the funding has been used and what difference it has made. Any unused funds must be returned.
