Taking Pride in Our Parish
Be proud of the community you live in – and help us keep Kents Hill & Monkston clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.
While it is the responsibility of all residents and dog owners to clean up after themselves and their pets, the Parish Council supports this effort by providing and maintaining dog waste and litter bins throughout the parish. These facilities are funded through the parish precept and represent a significant part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a clean and pleasant environment.
Dog Waste Bins
The Parish Council provides 37 dog waste bins across the parish. These bins are clearly marked and intended solely for dog waste. You may notice that the bins are either red or green – this is due to land ownership requirements:
-
Red bins are the standard choice for high visibility and are commonly used by parish councils.
-
Green bins are required by The Parks Trust who manage some areas of land in the parish and stipulate that any bins placed on their property must be green in colour.

Please be responsible – always clean up after your dog and use the bins provided. Let’s work together to keep our shared spaces clean and safe.
Litter Bins
The Parish Council also provides 23 litter bins throughout the parish, most of which are durable black dual bins marked with our parish name and a unique bin number. Please note that some bins in the area are owned and maintained by Milton Keynes City Council.

If you notice a damaged or overflowing bin, please contact the Parish Warden or Parish Clerk, quoting the bin number if possible, so that we can take prompt action.
