Community Planting Project – Help Us Choose Locations for Bulbs and Wildflowers
Kents Hill & Monkston Parish Council is excited to launch a new initiative aimed at brightening up our green spaces and supporting local biodiversity through the planting of spring bulbs and wildflowers across the parish.
As part of this project, the Council is inviting residents and community groups to suggest locations where planting could take place. The aim is to create a schedule of sites where carefully chosen flower species can flourish and bring joy to the community for years to come.
We want to hear from you!
Do you know of a grass verge, a neglected patch of land, or a green space that could benefit from a splash of colour? If so, we’d love your input.
How to submit your suggestion:
Please contact us with the following information:
- A description of the proposed location (including postcode, street name, or what3words if possible).
- Why you think the site is suitable for planting.
- Any relevant local knowledge (e.g. current use of the land or ownership, if known).
Email: admin@khm-pc.gov.uk
Deadline for submissions: Friday 1 August 2025
Once suggestions are received, the Council will:
- Review and map all proposed locations.
- Seek permission from the relevant landowners (e.g. Milton Keynes City Council, The Parks Trust).
- Obtain quotations for planting work to take place during the next suitable planting season.
This is a great opportunity to get involved in shaping your local environment. Whether it’s cheerful daffodils in spring or summer meadows buzzing with bees, we hope to create vibrant, welcoming spaces for everyone to enjoy.
